1. Strategy and Planning Meeting
Every matter starts with a dedicated Strategy and Planning Meeting, the real beginning of your representation. Your legal team gathers the facts, clarifies your goals and concerns, confirms the scope of your case, develops an initial strategy, and assigns the attorneys and staff who will work on your matter. It is also where we start thinking several moves ahead, so your case begins with a plan, not a blank invoice.
2. Your Monthly Plan
One monthly fee covers the ordinary work of your case. That includes attorney and paralegal time, case management, reasonable case-related communication, legal research and strategy, drafting and filing pleadings and orders, correspondence, negotiation, standard financial disclosures, and final documentation when your case resolves. A Monthly Activity Report keeps you informed of your case’s progress, even in quieter months.
3. Clearly Priced Additional Services
Family law cases sometimes need more than the ordinary. Formal discovery, mediation, temporary orders, additional hearings, and outside experts fall into that category. When they come up, you receive written pricing before any of it happens, so clients who never need those services are not subsidizing clients who do.
4. Trial, If It Comes to That
If your matter proceeds to a final trial, billing converts to hourly for that phase. Trial is a concentrated, unpredictable stage of litigation that falls outside the ordinary scope of your monthly plan. We provide advance notice and a retainer estimate well before your trial date.
